A popular destination, Bled's azure lake, picture postcard islet church, medieval castle perched atop a rocky cliff and the Julian Alps at its back drop make it deservedly so.
Strolling around Bled is the perfect way to while away the time. Wide, pedestrianised streets allow you to admire the architecture of the town, stopping to enjoy one of its famous cream cakes or a glass of wine at one of the pavement cafes.
The lake can also be enjoyed by taking a Pletna boat ride to the island to visit the Church of the Assumption of Mary which dates back to the 1400's. The church is a favourite for weddings and it is customary for the groom to carry the bride up the 99 steps leading up to the church.
It's a nature lover's dream with a wide range of walks from the trail to Vintgar Gorge, the climb to the ramparts of the castle or the numerous paths through the Triglav National Park.
